Building a moral intelligence scale for those who practice individual and group sports activities

Abstract

The current research aims to shed light on the concept of moral intelligence, the concept of practicing sporting activities, and a presentation of some previous Arab and foreign studies that touched on the subject of moral intelligence, and then constructing a measure of moral intelligence for those practicing individual and group sporting activities. The researchers used the descriptive approach, and the research sample consisted of (264) male and female middle school students for the academic year 2024 AD. The results concluded that (7) dimensions were extracted that represent the factors extracted for the moral intelligence scale among those practicing individual and group sports activities, all of which have a high degree of validity and reliability, namely (Empathy, Conscience, and Self-Monitoring). / Self-control, Respect, Kindness, Tolerance, Justice), and the results also reached:
- Moral intelligence among adolescents practicing individual activities came at a high level in all dimensions of the scale and the scale as a whole, except for the dimensions of respect and tolerance, came at a medium level.
- The moral intelligence of adolescents practicing group activities was at a high level in all dimensions of the scale and the scale as a whole.
- There are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) in the dimensions of respect, tolerance, and the scale as a whole in favor of those practicing group activities.
- There are no differences in the dimensions (empathy, conscience, self-control, kindness, justice) between those practicing individual and group activities.
