Attitudes of the elderly towards leisure time recreation according to some variables

The most important results reached by the researcher indicated that the average responses of the research sample of the elderly ranged between (2.67: 4.43) on all items and dimensions of the scale. There are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) in gender between males and females on the third dimension in favor of females. There are also no statistically significant differences in gender between males and females on the first dimension, the second dimension, and the fourth dimension according to the gender variable. There are no statistically significant differences in the variable of the nature of the place between rural and urban areas on the first dimension. There are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) in the variable of the nature of the place between rural and urban areas in favor of urban areas on the second dimension, the third dimension, and the fourth dimension. There are also statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) in the age group between pre-retirement age from (50:60) and post-retirement age from (61:70) on the third dimension in favor of pre-retirement age from (50:60). The researcher recommended the necessity of applying the scale of attitudes towards recreation and leisure time prepared by Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Hamahmy to the rest of the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt to identify the different attitudes of Egyptian societies towards recreation in leisure time, as society is constantly changing and does not stick to a certain ideology,
