Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the appropriateness of the proposed factor model for the multidimensional Mind wandering scale for the data of the study sample. Additionally, it sought to identify the nature of differences in the mean scores of the study sample on the Mind wandering scale based on the gender variable (males, females) and the academic level variable (first, second, third, fourth). The study utilized the descriptive causal-comparative methodology and consisted of 170 male and female students from the College of Physical Education at Kafrelsheikh University. Their ages ranged between 18 and 21 years, with an average age of 19.60 years and a standard deviation of 1.079 years. The study results indicated that the proposed factor model for the Mind wandering scale is reasonably suitable for the data of the students engaged in sports activities. Statistical differences were found between the mean scores of males and females among students in the College of Physical Education engaged in sports activities on the Mind wandering scale and its sub-factors, favoring males.
