Abstract

The goal of the current research is to try to identify the relationship between bullying and psychosocial adjustment among people of determination who practice karate. The researcher used the descriptive (correlational) approach to study the relationship between the research variables. Due to its suitability to the nature of the research and the goals it seeks to achieve, the researcher selected the research sample in a random manner. From the research community, which numbered (40) karate practitioners as a basic sample, with a percentage of (61.54%), an exploratory sample was also selected from the same research community and from outside the basic research sample, which numbered (20) practitioners, and a percentage of (30.77). %), (5) students were excluded with a percentage of (7.69%) due to not completing their responses to the research standards.
The researcher used the bullying scale (prepared by the researcher) and the psychosocial adjustment scale (prepared by Zainab Shaqir 2003) as tools for collecting data.
Among the most important results reached by the researcher were the following:
- High level of bullying (verbal, physical, psychological, social, and bullying over property) among people of determination who practice karate.
- There is a statistically significant inverse correlation between all dimensions of the bullying scale and its total score and the dimensions of psychosocial adjustment among people of determination who practice the sport of karate under study.
- Psychosocial adjustment can be predicted through bullying among people of determination who practice karate.
