The effectiveness of a small games program using Montessori activities on improving some of the elementary knowledge of kindergarten children

Abstract

The research aims to identify the effectiveness of a small games program using Montessori activities to improve some of the elementary knowledge of kindergarten children. The researcher used the experimental method to suit the nature of the research. The research sample included (60) children, including (40) children as a survey sample and (20) children as a basic sample. They were selected intentionally at Omar bin Abdul Aziz School in Beni Suef Governorate. The researcher used tools such as (initial knowledge tests and a form for observing the emotional and social aspects under research. The researcher used statistical methods such as (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, Cronbach alpha coefficient, Mann-Whitney test, Wilcoxon test, effect size)The results resulted in statistically significant differences between the averages of the pre- and post-measurements of the research sample, and in favor of the average of the post-measurement in improving elementary knowledge, which are letters in Arabic, letters in English, numbers in Arabic, numbers in English, geometric shapes, basic colors, and the names of the birds and animals under study. The results also resulted in Statistically significant differences between the averages of the pre- and post-measurements in improving the emotional and social aspects of the sample under study.
